K2 PASSIVATION
Next apply K-2 passivation solution and leave it for 20-25 minutes.
Finally clean the surface thoroughly with water.
- 1. First remove oil, dirt etc. with SI 56 degreaser. Add 50 - 75 gm/lit. in water & stir to dissolve. Wipe S.S. surface with cotton cloth or spray or soak for 10 min. Wash with water and allow to dry.
- 2. K-2 PASTE is applied on weld seam & surrounding areas with a nylon bristled plastic brush OR
K-2 Spray is sprayed on S.S. surface with plastic pressurized spray bottle or pump
OR K-2 Dip is used to dip S.S. components in a plastic tank or circulated in pipeline with pump.
Application Temp. = Between 25 - 35 deg. C .
If temp. is less than more time may be required and if temp. is more than uneven processing may result. So, cool SS equipment by keeping its in shade & not directly under the sun. - 3. Keep K-2 product for 10 - 45 minutes depending on contamination & scale. ( K-2 PASTE generally kept for 10 - 30 min. and K-2 Spray generally kept for 30 - 45 min. )
- 4. Wipe the weld seam lightly with plastic brush or cloth & wash with water thoroughly & allow to dry.
- 5. Spray or Dip in K-2 Passivation or K-2 Biopassive solution & leave it for 10- 20 minutes. Rinse with water thoroughly.
